Salih Aydemir - Guest Researcher at CRS, March - July 2023
Salih Aydemir is a doctoral candidate in Political Science and International Relations at Hasan Kalyoncu University in Turkey. His research aims at exploring how trust plays a role in relation to cooperation and coordination among NGOs in the Syrian context. His other related research areas include migration, EU migration policy and EU-Turkey relations in general. He was a Jean Monnet awardee in 2019, as a part of which he holds his second master’s from Brussels School of International Studies (BSIS) in EU External Relations with International Law.
Dawid Bunikowski - guest researcher at CRS May 2022
Dr. Dawid Bunikowski is a legal philosopher. He completed his PhD in Poland (on law and morality: abortion, euthanasia, human fertilisation, cloning, pornography, prostitution, same-sex couples etc.) and postdoctoral research in Finland (on the recent global financial crisis as an axiological crisis: the crisis of law and the crisis of morality; business ethics/corporate governance). He is currently Research Scholar at the Ronin Institute for Independent Scholarship, New Jersey, USA) and Researcher (Research Associate) at IGDORE - Institute for Globally Distributed Open Research and Education; a location independent research organisation; Estonia-Indonesia-Sweden). He is also Leader of the Sub-group of Philosophy of Law in the Arctic in the Arctic Law Thematic Network at the University of the Arctic . He is also Senior Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Wloclawek, Poland and part-time Lecturer at the University of Eastern Finland.
His main research area is legal theory/philosophy of law, in particular law and morality relations but not only. He is also a law and religion scholar and a social/political thinker interested in law, ethics, philosophy, logic, economy, history, and theology, and anthropology. He has broad experience of cross-disciplinary studies.
Nikolas Zambrana-Tevar - Guest researcher at CRS June 2022
Nikolas Zambrana-Tevar, KIMEP University, Kazahkstan, PhD in International Investment Law from the University of Navarra.
Dr. Nikolas Zambrana-Tevar has been visiting lecturer and presented papers in a number of academic institutions in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Recently invited as a researcher at the Institut für internationales und ausländisches Privatrecht University of Cologne. He has published articles in the field of private international law, commercial arbitration and investment law.
Dr. Zambrana-Tevar is currently working on academic papers on the accountability of religious institutions for child abuse under domestic and international law which he aims to work on during his stay at CRS.
Ingrid Malm Lindberg - Guest Researcher at CRS 2022-2023
Dr. Ingrid Malm Lindberg, PhD in Philosophy of Religion, will pursue her project on the philosophical foundations of alchemy as a guest researcher at CRS.
Thomas Schlag - guest researcher at CRS August - October 2022
Prof. Dr. Thomas Schlag, Professor of Practical Theology, Faculty of Theology, University of Zurich.
Prof. Schlag heads an interdisciplinary research priority programme at the university of Zurich “Digital Religion(s). Communication, Interaction and Transformation in the Digital Society”. Prof. Schlag will be visiting CRS as part of his research sabbatical intending to develop both his own research and connections with CRS as well as more broadly at Uppsala University.
Lauren Strumos - visiting PhD candidate, spring 2023
Lauren Strumos is a doctoral candidate in Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa (Canada). Her research explores how settler activists conceptualize their opposition to an oil pipeline project in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Her other research interests include veganism and human/non-human animal relations. Lauren is a deputy editor of Nonreligion and Secularity, the blog of the Nonreligion and Secularity Research Network, and she was an Ian H. Stewart Graduate Fellow (2021–2022) at the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society at the University of Victoria (Canada). Lauren received a Mitacs Globalink Research Award to visit the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research on Religion and Society at Uppsala University from January to April 2023.
