Sida
Sida (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) is Sweden’s government agency for development cooperation and answers to the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (UD). Sida strives to reduce world poverty by allocating resources and knowledge with the goal of making a difference for people in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. To achieve this, Sida collaborates with actors from civil society and universities as well as the public and private sector. Sida’s activities are funded through Swedish tax revenue and is in charge of roughly half of Sweden’s development aid.
Sida funds the ISP coordination of bilateral programs as well as the ISP core activities.

The research cooperation at Sida has a wide mandate in research support, encompassing capacity building, support to global, regional and national research as well as support to innovation. Stockholm University
Stockholm University has 27,000 students, 1,400 doctoral students, and 5,700 members of staff active in the scientific areas of Science and Human Science. Stockholm University is one of the 200 highest-ranked universities in the world according to several well-established university ranking tables.
The Faculty of Science at Stockholm University provides financial support to ISP. This support is mainly used for research groups in Chemistry and Physics at the National University of Laos and for activities aiming to set up the Pan-African Centre for Mathematics.
Uppsala University
Uppsala University is the Nordic region’s oldest university – founded in 1477 – and is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world. There are more than 50,000 students here and they are seen, heard and make their mark everywhere. The University’s nearly 5,000 researchers and teachers conduct world-leading research and offer a seemingly endless number of courses.
The Faculty of Science and Technology at Uppsala University gives financial support to ISP, mainly to the operating costs of the ISP office.
