Dr Jessica Whiteside

Team member Whiteside

Jessica Whiteside is a geochemist who investigates the evolution of continental ecosystems through geological time. She has a particular interest in geochemical records of mass extinctions, climatic sorting of taxa, key evolutionary innovations, and the astronomical forcings that drove changes in terrestrial climate and ecosystems. Jessica collaborates with stratigraphers, invertebrate and vertebrate palaeontologists, and palaeobotanists to reconstruct continental palaeoenvironments and ecosystem dynamics.

Dr Jessica Whiteside is Associate Professor of Geochemistry within the School of Ocean and Earth Science at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. Her departmental webpage can be found here
