Ervīns Lukševičs is a vertebrate palaeontologist, geologist, palaeogeographer, and stratigrapher who studies Devonian fishes and the first tetrapods. He integrates morphological, palaeoichnological, palaeoecological, palaeogeographical, and biostratigraphical information towards reconstructing the palaeobiological and environmental context of tetrapod origins with an emphasis on Baltic records. Ervīns also acts as corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Latvia and the Subcommission on Devonian Stratigraphy.

Prof. Ervīns Lukševičs is Chairman of Bedrock Geology at the Department of Geology in the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences of the University of Riga in Latvia. His departmental webpage can be found here
