Studying law in Uppsala

Become a student at Juridicum

We offer programmes, stand-alone courses and also tailor-made packages for working life.

Our Law Programme is one of the most popular in Sweden. The programme is based on a problem-based learning model and gives you sought-after knowledge in both traditional law and newer specialised areas. After graduation, there are good opportunities to work in a variety of areas where legal expertise is in demand.

Kvarteret Munken

Within the Law Programme, several interesting courses are offered. Freestanding courses are also available. The programme courses are at two levels: basic, undergraduate (first-cycle or bachelor’s) and advanced, postgraduate (second-cycle or master’s), with scope for in-depth and extensive study. Freestanding courses are taught at basic level. During the three semesters (7–9) of advanced studies, programme students can select their own combination of compulsory and optional, in-depth courses and their degree (dissertation) project.

Admission to the Land Management Programme, specialising in law and focusing on law and urban and regional planning, could be another option. The purpose of this programme – which, like the Law Programme, is based on problem-oriented teaching – is to educate lawyers who will take part in the legal aspects of the urban development process, providing legally sustainable solutions and process management.

Courses

The law programme offers courses at both first and second cycle level. We also offer freestanding courses at first and second cycle level. Below you can see how the courses are distributed depending on whether you are a student at the law programme or if you choose to study one of our freestanding courses.
