Hugo Alfvén 150 years: A research symposium 13-14 October 2022

The symposium is part of the anniversary week organized by Musicum and the Department of Musicology at Uppsala University to draw attention to Alfvén's importance in Swedish musical and cultural life. In addition to this symposium, a number of concerts, lectures and a masterclass are arranged during the week in Uppsala .
The symposium is a scientific meeting that aims to present new research on and around Alfvén, as well as to raise questions concerning the interpretation of Alfvén's work. Some presentations are in Swedish, others in English (see program below).
The symposium is organized with financial support from the Hugo Alfvén Foundation of the Royal Academy of Music.
