Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS-ERIC)

The Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS ERIC) is a distributed European infrastructure with a network of field stations measuring carbon dioxide fluxes and other parameters of major significance in greenhouse gases over sea and land. ICOS has been operated since 2015 as an ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium), a special form of organisation for European research infrastructures. Sweden hosts ICOS Carbon Portal, the European portal that stores and delivers freely available and quality-controlled observation data for all of ICOS ERIC. Sweden participates through the Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS Sweden).

The Council for Research Infrastructures (RFI) funds this research infrastructure, which the Swedish Research Council considers to be in the national interest.
