How to place an order

All genotyping and sequencing orders are handled through the NGI order portal.
You can also request a meeting in the portal.
Orders are non binding.

How to place an order

  1. Start by choosing the appropriate form (genotyping or Illumina sequencing) at the NGI Order portal.
  2. Provide a project title and fill in the form with the requested information.
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
  3. After clicking “save and view” you will be able to read through your project application and attach files. You may then edit, delete or submit your project order.

You can see and access your orders through the page "My orders" but once submitted you can no longer edit your order.

If you are unsure which method to choose you can contact us directly or use the form "Request a meeting" at the NGI Order portal.

For more complex projects and research questions we always recommend meeting, either in person or via videoconferences. Meetings are free of charge.

Important note for EU / H2020-funded projects
Due to the audit rules for subcontracting, please indicate if your project is funded by EU/FP7 in the field named "Source of funding for the project". This allows us to collect necessary information proactively.

What happens after I place my order?

After an order is placed, the facilities within NGI will together assess it and perform an internal review of the technical feasibility. For projects that require more than 5% of the total sequencing capacity of a facility, an external review will be performed prior to project acceptance. This only applies to very large projects and you will be notified if your order is affected.

Once an order has been accepted the project coordinator from the NGI facility assigned to your project will notify you, in our case the SNP&SEQ Technology Platform. You will be given a project code and an agreement with a quotation will be prepared based on your order information and if needed, a project meeting will be scheduled. You make no commitment until you have signed the agreement.

You will not be able to hand in samples until your project is accepted and an agreement is signed.
