About the National Centre for Knowledge on Men's Violence Against Women

Huset där Nationellt centrum för kvinnofrid finns.

The National Centre for Knowledge on Men's Violence Against Women (NCK) at Uppsala University and Uppsala University Hospital is commissioned by the Government with raising national awareness on men's violence against women, honour-based violence and oppression, and violence in same-sex relationships. NCK is also commissioned with providing support to victims of violence.

In order to execute the commissions, NCK works with training of professionals and students, method development for the care of women exposed to violence, and with information, research and knowledge compilation.

NCK's Clinical Department (Kvinnofridsenheten) at Uppsala University Hospital operates three national support lines: the national helpline for women, Kvinnofridslinjen 020-50 50 50, the Support Line for Men 020-80 80 80 80 and the Support Line for Transgender People 020-55 00 00.

NCK also operates Sweden's first specialist clinic for women who have been victims of violence – an out-patient clinic at Uppsala University Hospital.
