Individual courses in Applied Biotechnology

Literature project is intended to give training in searching the literature and in writing an essay, but it is also meant to give an opportunity to delve deeper into a subject, relevant to your education, that you find particularly interesting. Sources of information could be the library, databases on the Internet as well as teachers and researchers (through interviews, informal discussions or seminars) – it is however important that at large part of the information is obtained from original scientific references. You contact someone with expertise in the field you choose and who can act as your supervisor to provide help and support. The final outcome of the course is that you write a report in review-article style.

Research training aims to give an insight into research and development - how it is organized and implemented in practical terms. You get an opportunity to follow and to take part in the practical work, which may encompass several different things in order to get a complete picture of the place where you perform your Research training. As part of the course, you and your supervisor chose literature that covers a theory section from a relevant subject area. You then get to study and learn this theory. You and your supervisor also agree on how to make use of the literature for your work and for a minor examination. Furthermore, you are expected to give a short oral presentation as well as establish a written report for the training period.
