Equal opportunities at ICM

Uppsala University must have a health-promoting and sustainable work environment for all staff and students. The University should be permeated by equal opportunities. This helps to ensure that the University is a safe, stimulating and challenging learning and research environment. It also creates the conditions for successful activities and contributes to Uppsala University’s status as an attractive employer and education provider.

Uppsala University shall strive for a work environment characterized by job satisfaction, trust, respect, development opportunities, participation and security. It is everyone's responsibility to participate in the systematic work environment and equal opportunities work.

The Faculty of Science and Technology’s Equal Opportunities Committee has overall responsibility for initiatives concerning equal opportunities. However, most of the work is carried out at the faculty’s departments. Each department has an equal opportunities representative and an equal opportunities group.

Work environment at ICM

If you feel there is any victimisation, harassment and/or sexual harassment at your workplace, it is extremely important that you contact your line manager for support and for investigation of the situation. This may be a matter of behaviour to which you personally feel you are or have been subjected, or to which you feel someone else at your workplace has been subjected. If you feel subjected to such treatment by your line manager, contact a higher manager. You can also get in touch with HR, who will in turn contact the line manager. It is important that the employer is made aware of the situation so as to be able to act and take measures. You can also ask your trade union organisation or a safety representative for advice and support in the process. It may also be helpful to make use of your right to anonymous talks via the occupational health services as a means of obtaining advice and support.

Anyone desiring general information about the contents and implications of current rules concerning reports and the procedures involved in an investigation before potentially submitting a report can obtain assistance, in the first instance, from the Human Resources Division or the Legal Affairs Division.
