RECENT SANCTIONS-RELATED UN RESOLUTIONS

14 November 2023 – With Resolution 2707 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 15 November 2024. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 15 December 2024.

28 February 2022 – With Resolution 2624 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 28 February 2023. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 28 March 2023.

25 February 2021 – With Resolution 2564 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 28 February 2022. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 28 March 2022.

25 February 2020 – With Resolution 2511 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 26 February 2021. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 28 March 2021.

26 February 2019 – With Resolution 2456 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 26 February 2020. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 28 March 2020.

26 February 2018 – With Resolution 2402 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 26 February 2019. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 28 March 2019.

23 February 2017 – With Resolution 2342 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 26 February 2018. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 28 March 2018.

24 February 2016 – With Resolution 2266 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions imposed 2014 with resolution 2140 until 26 February 2017. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 27 March 2017.

14 April 2015 – With Resolution 2216 the Security Council decides to impose arms embargo on Ali-Abdullah Saleh, Abdullah Yahya Al Hakim, Abd Al-Khalid Al-Houthi and other individuals or entities acting on their behalf or in their direction threatening peace, security and stability in Yemen. The Sanctions Committee and the Panel of Experts shall monitor the implementation of the arms embargo.

24 February 2015 – With Resolution 2204 the Security Council decides to renew the sanctions measures imposed by resolution 2140 (2014) until 26 February 2016. The mandate of the Panel of Experts is extended until 25 March 2016.

26 February 2014 – With Resolution 2140 the Security Council imposes targeted measures in the form of assets freeze and travel ban on individuals or entities engaging in or providing support for acts that threaten the peace, security or stability in Yemen. A new Sanctions Committee is established to monitor the implementation of the measures, designate individuals subject to the measures, to establish guidelines for the implementation of the measures, report to the Security Council and to encourage dialogue between the Committee and interested Member States in the region.
