  • Period: 2018-01-01 – 2025-12-31
  • Funder: Region Dalarna

Description

The research project studies the decommissioning processes of the health care system that started in 2015 when Region Dalarna faced a very difficult financial situation. Knowledge of how decommissioning processes unfold and under what circumstances is limited. Increased knowledge and insight enable planning and optimization of the decommissioning processes healthcare systems is currently facing and will have to deal with in the future.

The purpose of the research project is to investigate how decommissioning processes in healthcare are decided, perceived, and introduced in the organization. Among other things, department managers and first line managers' perceptions of the region's leadership as well as their own participation and commitment to ensure fair and evidence-based healthcare care are studied.
