Main fields of research and projects

Pediatric oncology

Four out of 5 children who are diagnosed with cancer today will survive, thanks to intensive international research focused on pediatric oncology in the past 50 years and the development of improved treatments. The goal of contemporary research is to further improve survival, but also to make cancer treatment more specific and tolerable for children by minimizing severe side effects and long-term complications.

Neuropediatrics

Neuropediatrics is a branch specialty under pediatric medicine and includes pediatric neurology and rehabilitation. Our main research areas are tumors in the central nervous system, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, hydrocephalus, and developmental neurology. Our work is primarily focused on the investigation, diagnosis, and management of suspected neurological diseases and associated complications and/or late effects.
