Research Track Reproduction and Development

The Research Track Reproduction and Development started on October 27 in 2017 at the Department of Women’s and Children's Health, Uppsala University. Research tracks are new research training courses at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy at Uppsala University.

The research track includes seminar series ObGyn Highlights and Research Forum for Children and Youth. Below you will find more information about the series.

Research Track Day at the Reproduction and Development Research Track

The Research Track Day Reproduction and Development 2023 was on December 8 from 1 pm to 4 pm at Rudbecksalen at the Rudbeck Laboratory.

Research training courses

The track organize the course Research in Reproduction and Development 1.5 ECTS every second year. The next course will be in 2024.

Learning outcomes

After completion of the course, the PhD-student should be able to:

Knowledge and understanding

  • Describe basic reproductive physiology, endocrinology, and child development
  • Describe different research methodology used in the research field of Reproduction and Development.
  • Describe possible confounders, and other pitfalls in the field.
  • Identify ethical considerations in the research field.

Skills and capacities

  • To combine different methodologies to construct a research plan for an application, within the research field of Reproduction and Development, where potential confounders and ethical aspects are taken into consideration.

Evaluative capacity and approach

  • Evaluate and choose appropriate research methodologies for their own research topic.
  • To do a constructive evaluation of other PhD-students research applications.

The track organize the course every second year and it was given on campus 2018 and via Zoom 2020 and then again at campus during 2022.

We encourage research seminars from everyone in the research field. Are you a doctoral student in the Research Track that will soon defend your doctoral thesis or are you a supervisor that would like to present your own research or to recommend a doctoral student for a seminar?
