About the museum

Gustavianum, Uppsala University Museum, manages the university's magnificent collections of archaeological and historical objects, art, coins and history of science.

The museum building, Gustavianum, which is temporarily closed for renovation, is an important venue for the university's collaboration with the local community. Our exhibitions and programs are based on our collections and from research conducted at Uppsala University.

Our collections are open for academic research and education. We offer intership oppertunites for Uppsala students to work in our museum stores together with our curators. Students from a range of academic backrounds are also employed to work in the museum.
