New permanent exhibitions and programmes in Gustavianum
In Gustavainum, Uppsala University’s oldest building there is now a modern museum. New core exhibits will present highlights from Ancient Egypt and other Mediterranean cultures, the early Viking Age, Art History and scientific discoveries, as well as Rudbeck's anatomical theatre and the Augsburg Art Cabinet.
In addition to displaying historical objects, the museum aims to be a venue for conversations about current key issues, research and science. Gustavianum's public activities will include themed events, lectures and concerts where a historical perspective meets the contemporary.
