Borrowing and returning books
Borrow and return
A self-service machine is located to the left of the circulation desk. After returning materials in the machine, put them in the return box. You can also return books borrowed at our other libraries.
Your loans are renewed automatically where possible.
Books for pickup
Books that you have requested or queued for are located on a shelf to the left, near the middle of the room.
Interlibrary loans and articles
Interlibrary loan books are also located on the shelf to the left, near the middle of the room. Interlibrary loans do not need to be registered in the self-service machine. Article copies are to the left as you enter the library.
Your loans are renewed automatically where possible.
Pick up article copies and interlibrary loans
If you have requested a copy of an article, you will find it on the shelf to the left as you enter the library. The articles are sorted by the last name of the person who ordered them. Interlibrary loans can be found alongside other requested books on a shelf to the left, near the middle of the room. Interlibrary loans do not need to be registered in the self-service machine.
Food and beverages
- No food is allowed in the library.
- Water and coffee are allowed if you have a top on your cup or bottle.
- There is a café, lunch restaurant, and a pantry with microwave ovens in other parts of the building.

Close by you will find 7 group rooms (no booking).
Technical equipment
Public computers
As a student, researcher or employee at Uppsala University, you use your university account and password A to access the computers. Other visitors can get a temporary account at one of our information desks. You can see which of our libraries have information desks and when they are open on the page Opening hours and contact.
Copy, scan and print
Everyone is welcome to use the University's printing system eduPrint.
Wireless network
Students and researchers use the Eduroam network. Other visitors are welcome to use the UU-guest network.
Support
All IT technical support is provided by the University's IT support.
