Introduction

As a new employee, we offer an introduction consisting of three parts:

1. Local workplace introduction that takes place at your institution/department/equivalent.
   The purpose of the workplace introduction is to provide you with the knowledge you need to perform your tasks efficiently and safely. It should also help you to get to know your colleagues and settle into the work group. The local introduction programme is the responsibility of your line manager or another person designated by your manager. Your workplace also has a local HR support where you can ask questions about your employment.
   
   
2. Digital introduction portal to complement your local workplace introduction programme
   In the introduction portal, we have collected pages and links that make it easier for you as a new employee to gain insight and understanding of the University's organisation and activities. Here you will also find information about what you need to know as an employee. A link to the introduction portal can be found below.
   
   
3. Welcome reception for all new university employees.
   Once a semester, all new employees are welcomed to a joint welcome reception. The aim is for you to get an official welcome to the University and network with other new employees. The welcome reception is held in both Swedish and English. Links to the welcome receptions can be found below.
   
   
4. Introduction seminar for international staff
   All international staff are welcome to participate in an introduction seminar. The introduction seminar is held once a semester. The aim is for you to gain further understanding of Uppsala University as a workplace and insight into our exciting activities, but also to meet and network with other new employees.
