Universitetshuset

UKÄ reviews higher education institutions quality assurance procedures for both education and research. The review is conducted in the form of self-evaluation, peer review and site visits. The overall judgement of the HEI's quality assurance processes is given on a three-point scale: “approved quality assurance processes”, “approved quality assurance processes with reservations”, “quality assurance processes under review”. At UKÄ´s webpage there is more information about the institutional reviews and guidelines.

Higher education institutions that are given the judgement “approved quality assurance processes with reservations”, “quality assurance processes under review” are to present measures. UKÄ appoints an assessment panel that follows up the measures.

Uppsala University´s quality assurande procedure for education were under review 2020-2021 and were given the judgement “approved quality assurance processes”.

The six assessment areas were:

  • Governance and organisation
  • Preconditions
  • Design, implementation and outcomes

For Uppsala Univeristy all the six assessment areas were approved, but one assessment criteria were not. This assessment criteria is:

"3.6 The HEI ensures that the assessment results are published and the planned or implemented measures to improve and develop the courses and programmes are communicated in an appropriate way with the relevant stakeholders."
