Funding

U-CARE receives funding from the Swedish government, Uppsala University and external financiers such as the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation, the Swedish Cancer Society, Forte, the Swedish Heart Lung Foundation, the Kamprad Family Foundation and the Swedish Research Council. For more information about our funding, see U-CARE's annual reports.

In 2009, the Swedish government decided on an investment in strategic research areas (SFOs). The decision was part of creating world-leading research and was based on a recommendation by the Swedish Research Council, Fas, Formas, Vinnova, and the Swedish Energy Agency. Uppsala University participates in half of 20 designated strategic areas, of which seven as a coordinator, of which U-CARE is one. As an SFO, U-CARE receives special funding from the government, SFO funding.

We also receive external grants. Below are examples of grants our organization has received from different research funders and organizations over the past five years.
