National Centre for Disaster Psychiatry

The Knowledge Centre for Disaster Psychiatry, abbreviated KcKP, is established at the Department of Medical Sciences, Uppsala University, and operates in collaboration with the Psychiatry Division at Uppsala University Hospital.

The Knowledge Centre manages knowledge in the field of psycho­traumatology by

• gathering, deepening and disseminating knowledge and, based on new research findings, increasing knowledge about traumatic stress and its consequences
• conducting and participating in research projects, investigations and risk analyses
• developing Swedish guidelines for training at different levels regarding crisis support and treatment of traumatic stress
• be responsible for and participate in the training of health professionals.
