Patient-Centred Drug Delivery (7.5 cr)

Modern health care places increasing emphasis on individually tailored treatments. In this course, you study how the unique physiological, biochemical and cell biological changes that occur in disease enable and affect target-directed drug therapies.

Farmaceutiska fakultetens fristående kurser (7,5 hp)

The development of new drugs and treatments increasingly focuses on individually adapted and target-directed drug formulations. Great progress is also being made in the additive and continuous manufacturing of drugs – such as 3D printing. Correspondingly, the industry's need for new knowledge and future competencies in controlled drug release is increasing, and in Autumn Term 2021, the Faculty of Pharmacy launched the course Patient-centred drug delivery.

In this course, you will increase your understanding of physiologically initiated release principles for useful drugs. You will also gain knowledge of how absorption in cells can be stimulated by binding to receptors. You will also learn to apply strategies for patient-adapted, goal-directed formulations and to analyse how these can be used for biological drugs.

Welcome to take part in current presentations from the absolute forefront of our field. Alongside the Faculty of Pharmacy's leading researchers, we also – via our central role in the national competence center SweDeliver – engage industry experts as guest lecturers.

This course can be advantageously combined with Advanced Drug Delivery.
