Study with us

Welcome to study with us! We are located at Campus BMC (Department of Chemisty - BMC) and Campus Ångström Laboratory (Department of Chemistry - Ångström) and we are part of the Faculty of Science and Technology (TekNat).

Our courses have a course code starting with 1KB***. As chemistry is a large subject there are courses in chemistry at Uppsala university that we are not responsible for, the course codes then start differently.

Below there is important information to know as a student.

Support in case of complications

Sometimes your studies do not go as planned. Then it can be important to get help from one of the support functions that exist. The links by this text list some of the places you can turn to if you encounter problems you need help with. Of course you can also contact us, see the contact page in the left hand menu!

If you have a long-term disability (e.g. dyslexia) you can apply for targeted study support. Remember that you need to apply for support for each written examination via the form on the TekNat student pages.

If you have been subjected to harassment or victimisation you can talk to a course responsible teacher, study counsellor or programme director for your programme, or one of our study directors, see our contact page. We take harassment and discrimination seriously and it is the head of the respective department that is responsible to investigate and prevent that it happens.

If you are waiting on grades that have not been reported in Ladok 25 days after an examination (exam or lab course), contact the course responsible teacher or e-mail the course office.

More information about where to turn in different situation are also available on the page for your rights as a student at Uppsala university.

Examination and retrieving written exams

Most courses have a written examination in an examination hall. You must register in Ladok latest 12 days before the exam, otherwise you will not be allowed to participate. If you have been granted accomodation at written exams as part of your targeted study support, you also need to apply for this 12 days before each exam. If you will not take the exam, it is important that you de-register.

Uppsala university has several shared examination halls, where they are locatated is described on the central pages about examination at UU. On these pages you will also find more important information about exams.

How you can retrieve you written exam differs if you have written it on paper or as an e-exam in Inspera. Paper exams are scanned after assessment and can be downloaded 1-2 weeks after the grades have been reported in Ladok. It is important that you check your assessed exam when you get access, it is only possible to re-scan the exam during a limited time in case something is wrong with the scan.

E-exams written in Inspera can normally be downloaded from Inspera a few days after the grades have been reported in Ladok.

If the teacher e.g. has made a mistake in summing up the points or missed to assess a question it is possible to apply to have the grade reassessed, see the information in the link about retreiving a paper exam.

Re-registration on a course

If you have missed an obligatory part of a course (e.g. due to illness) that you need to do the next time the course is given you need to apply for re-registration, see the left hand menu.
