Welcome Programme for Uppsala, autumn 2024
The Arrival Days for autumn semester 2024 are Wednesday 21 August and Thursday 22 August 2024.
Arriving at Stockholm Arlanda Airport
During the Arival Days, we will have an Arrival Desk at Arlanda Airport from 09:00 to 20:00. The Arrival Desk is located outside the customs service in Terminal 5.
We will also offer a free shuttle service from Arlanda Airport to the Welcome Centre in Uppsala during these hours.
If you arrive at any other terminal, you will need to go to Terminal 5 to meet us and take the shuttle service.
If your arrival is delayed
Should your arrival be delayed, or if you are arriving another day, you will need to make necessary arrangements for your transportation and accommodation on your own.
Arriving in Uppsala
We have a Welcome Centre set up in Uppsala, in the Segerstedt Building.
When? The Welcome Centre will be open on the Arrival Days 21–22 August 2024, between 10:00 and 21:00.
Where? The Segerstedt Building is located at Dag Hammarskjölds väg 7.
What? Services at the Welcome Centre include:
- Uppsala University Housing Office for keys and contracts for most housing areas (only for students who have been offered housing through the Uppsala University Housing Office)
- Welcome packages
- Shuttle services to housing areas
- Student account activation (requires formal ID, take your passport with you)
- Temporary student ID
Staff from the Housing Office and the International Office, as well as student volunteers, will be on hand at the Welcome Centre.
Arriving on another day?
You are warmly welcome to visit the Service Centre in the Segerstedt Building during its ordinary opening hours to pick up your welcome folder and student account details.
Information sessions online
Every new academic year the university holds a number of information sessions for new international students, to help you prepare for your studies and life in Sweden.
Welcome reception after arrival
The welcome reception for new international students will take place in the University Main Building on Thursday 29 August.
Ceremony in the Grand Auditorium, 14:00–15:00
Welcome by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Coco Norén This will be followed by light-hearted entertainment and useful information. The ceremony will be held in English.
The doors to the Grand Auditorium will open at 13:30.
Mini fair around the staircase, 15:00–16:30
Nations and students’ unions, the University’s student support services and associations linked to the University will all be present
