The BUP Teachers´ Day was dedicated for teachers that have taken part in the BUP Teachers’ Courses before. However, all teachers in Higher Education within BUP were welcomed.

The Teacher Day took place online on 27 April, during the afternoon. The aim of this event is to offer an opportunity for teachers within the network to share experience and best practice, network and get new inspiration on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

The program featured a presentation and an exercise, together with the opportunity for a general discussion. The war in Ukraine was on everybody’s mind and, naturally, the key issue in the discussion. There were 15 participants, many from Ukraine.

The main points in the program:
“From a BUP course to Advancing ESD: Assessing UNESCOs Critical Key Competences”. Alice Annelin and Gert-Olof Boström, Umeå University, Sweden.

Before attending my expectations were: to listen to the colleagues’ opinion on the circumstance we live in; understand their attitude towards the situation; share my vision on further development in higher education in Ukraine taking into account opportunities and constrains; having my voice heard to receive some suggestion.

The best part in every BUP meeting or event is that people from different countries express their thoughts and share sometimes controversial points of view, finding the mutually beneficial solution via communication, work outside the box and use critical thinking in order to achieve the goal.

From the BUP Teachers Day I will bring with me applied educational solutions for introduction and implementation of technology in our courses; critical thinking methodology.
