What was your first job after graduation?

Working at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce was my first job after graduation. I also did extra work there during my studies.

How has your economics degree from Uppsala University helped you in your career?

Since I work with foreign trade, it has been important to understand how these processes work and influence various factors in the outside world. My degree in economics laid the foundation for understanding these causal relationships. In addition, I benefit greatly from having developed my analytical problem-solving skills through my education, which is of course important in any profession.

Why did you choose the Master's program in Economics at Uppsala University?

I got my bachelor's degree at Uppsala University and chose to continue my studies there because I already knew that Uppsala University and the Department of Economics were good. In addition, I wanted to immerse myself in certain areas of economics that Uppsala University is strong in.

What is your best memory from your time at Uppsala University?

My best memory from my time at Uppsala University in terms of studies was writing my master's thesis. It gave me the opportunity to independently focus on a specific topic and apply what I learned during almost five years of education. Outside of academics, I have to admit that the best part was meeting my current boyfriend.

What advice would you give to current and future Master's students in Economics?

Since university time is only for a limited period of time, a good piece of advice for current and future Master's students is that it is important to find a workable balance between purely academic and other student life. I think many people make the mistake of doing too much of one or the other. You are there to learn but it is also an opportunity to have the most fun years of your life.
