Testimonials and certificates

If you have been employed longer than six months, a testimonial is issued. The testimonial contains details of the extent of the employment, types of employment/s duties, a testimonial of how well duties have been performed as well as the reason for the termination of the employment.

If you require a testimonial, please contact HR at your department.

A certificate of employment is issued if you have been employed for six months or less. The certificate will contain details of the employment/s that you have had at Uppsala University. The certificate contains information regarding placement, time of employment and position.

You may request a certificate confirming your employment and providing details about your salary. Such a certificate may be issued e.g. when renting accommodation or requesting a bank loan.

If you require a certificate of employment and salary, please contact HR at your department.

An employer’s certificate forms the basis for an application for unemployment benefit. The certificate corroborates your employment and contains information about working hours and absence by hours during the past months. Such a certificate cannot be issued until after your final day of employment.

This certificate cannot be issued on one-time remuneration fees, since there is no record of worked hours.

To receive an employer’s certificate, contact your unemployment insurance provider [A-kassa] and arbetsgivarintyg.nu. The Payroll Unit will then send the certificate electronically via arbetsgivarintyg.nu and you will receive an email or text message when the certificate is available for you to approve there. You can also contact the Payroll Unit by e-mail lon@uu.se to obtain an employer's certificate.
