Travel scholarships

Travel scholarships are available for studies abroad, study and research trips that take place in the semester in which you apply for the scholarship or in one of the two following semesters.

Travel scholarships cannot be applied for if the trip has been completed before the deadline.

What should be attached to the application?

• Travel plan: The travel plan should include the purpose of the trip, the time periods of the stay and the planned content.
• Cost estimate: The cost estimate should include the total amount for which you are applying and your various items of expenditure with the amounts specified. Examples of expenditure items are living costs (within the time period), materials, operating costs, travel and accommodation. You cannot be awarded a larger amount than you have applied for.
• For researchers and doctoral students: If you are applying for travel scholarships as a researcher, you may also need to attach other types of appendies such as a project description.

The scholarship must be used within the tenure

The recipient of a travel scholarship must use it within the specified timeframe. If you are unable to use your scholarship within the specified time, please contact us at stipendier@uu.se before your granted period expires so that we can investigate the possibility of reallocating it.
