Globisch Group

Schematic picture of the research in the Globisch group describing the following steps: Sampling is symbolised by three Eppendorf tubes with different coloured contents. Isolation of metabolites is symbolised by a vial containing various substances. Analysis of metabolites is symbolised by a mass spectrometer. Data analysis is symbolised by three charts. Identification of individual metabolites is symbolised by a mass spectrum.

Biomarker discovery, chemical biology, organic chemistry, mass spectrometry, and metabolomics

Biomarker discovery is a challenging and multidisciplinary task. We develop new tools for mass spectrometric analysis of complex samples and are focussed on elucidating microbiota metabolism. We investigate any human sample type, e.g. fecal, urine, and plasma samples from pancreatic cancer patients.
