AKKA is Uppsala University's joint catalog and authorization system. The system handles information about the organization and people who are active at the university. This includes regular employees, other active personnel as well as students.

The registration and display of data linked to an organization or an individual can only be performed by trusted directory administrators. Personal and contact information linked to a specific individual may vary depending on the category (e.g. student or employee) and in some cases the use of other services at the university (e.g. accounts for e-mail addresses and/or telephone numbers).

The personal data that is handled in AKKA ADM (/test) are:

  • First name and Surname
  • Social security number
  • User name
  • Email address
  • Organizational residence (incl. phone number if applicable)

AKKA is part of the university's IT infrastructure and is connected to other systems, e.g. Common Web Login and Active Directory. These systems can read basic personal data registered in AKKA to provide access to electronic resources at the university. In such cases, the information used is limited to only the information that is required for the process (e.g. name, username and/or e-mail address).

User data is never disclosed to third parties or third countries (countries that are not members of the EU or EEA). You have the right to request a register extract in order to check what information is registered about you. Read more about your rights and how we handle personal data at the university.

AKKA complies with the EU data protection regulation as well as the international framework GÉANT Data Protection Code of Conduct.
