Objectives

Professional Development and Skills Training at the Faculty of Pharmacy (PUFF) aims to ensure the content and progression of skills training and professional development in the Master of Science and the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy programmes.

The educational elements should ensure the fulfilment of the degree objectives related primarily to skills and abilities but also to values and attitudes.

The Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy programmes consist of subject-related courses and interdisciplinary courses in professional development (PU courses). Skills training is included in both subject courses and PU courses. Skills training should follow the progression of the programmes in a coherent way.

Overview of Professional Development.

Progression

Progression in skills training elements is achieved partly through course objectives with increased complexity and/or through grading criteria with increased requirements and partly through feedback and self-assessment.

Feedback can be given by teachers, fellow students, coordinators + reference groups, language workshops or alumni - on specially designed forms.

Self-assessment is a natural part of improving your abilities and "demonstrating self-awareness, developing a professional approach, identifying the need for further knowledge and continuously developing your competence" (see the programme objectives for the Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy programmes).

Progression in laboratory segments is also fulfilled through self-assessment and feedback, as well as through the evaluation of practical segments. By using an individual and programme-wide laboratory journal, common safety regulations/procedures and laboratory report templates, as well as checklists for various elements linked to laboratory work, progression is facilitated.
