The ability to work in a team is very important in your future professional role as a pharmacist or prescriptionist, regardless of where you work. The programme gives you many opportunities to work in groups on different tasks.

The group methodology varies depending on the objectives of the course and is more or less regulated depending on the task. The more obvious forms of methodology include Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and case methodology. Descriptions and instructions can be found in this guide.

In addition, the programme allows you to work in interprofessional groups when, during the Interprofessional Learning 1 (IPL1), IPL2 and IPL3 segments, you meet students from the other pre-vocational programmes at the faculties of medicine and pharmacy for half a day.

Together you will have the opportunity to discuss issues related to interprofessional communication, human rights and ethics, and patient safety. These sessions aim to prepare you and the other students for the interprofessional situation you will face when you start working.

The guide also includes general basic methods for group work and useful advice on how to create effective group collaboration and a favourable working environment. By practising group work during the training, you will learn how to use different tools for group work and how to capitalise on the knowledge of your group members.

You will also have the opportunity to practise leadership. This will hopefully help your group work function well regardless of the chosen methodology. You will use the contents throughout your training programme, some parts of which you will return to during several courses.

This way of working contributes to the fulfilment of degree objectives in terms of teamwork and the ability to lead, plan and coordinate work.
