Dermatology and Venereology
Within the research group of dermatology and venereology, we study the molecular background and clinical characteristics of inflammatory, genetic, and malignant skin diseases as well as basic skin biology.
Description
The research conducted includes experimental, translational and clinical research. The overall aim is to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive inflammatory and malignant skin diseases in order to develop new, innovative treatment strategies. In order to achieve this we use research registries and biobanks to follow up patients, map the effect of different treatments, the relationship with other diseases and the patients' experience of the disease.
The research group is led by lecturer Enikö Sonkoly, and involves basic researchers as well as clinician.
